Hurricane Relief Efforts

Orient Congregational Church, in partnership with the North Fork Community, is collecting items to be sent to the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  These items will be assembled into Disaster Cleanup Kits and Hygiene Kits.  Items may be dropped off at the church office during regular business hours, or, on Sunday mornings, between now and Sunday, September 24.

The following items are needed:  Five-gallon buckets with re-sealable lids; Scouring pads; Sponges; Scrub brushes; Packages of Easy Wipes; Liquid laundry detergent, 25 and 50 oz. sizes; Mr. Clean or equivalent (no spray bottles, please); Packages of 48 - 50 clothespins; Clothesline in 50 and 100-foot lengths; Dust masks; Non-surgical Latex gloves (dishwashing gloves); Work gloves: cotton with leather palm, or all leather; Packages of 24 - 28 heavy-duty contractor-type 30-45 gal. trash bags on a roll; Non-aerosol insect repellent, 6 - 9 oz. size; Bathroom hand towels (no fingertip towels, please); Washcloths; Wide-tooth combs; Fingernail and toenail clippers; Bath-size bars of soap in the wrapper; Toothbrushes in the package; Boxes of Band-Aids.

We are a Church World Service Depot!

Churches who are assembling Church World Service Kits may drop them off at Orient Congregational Church on Saturday, September 30, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Hygiene Kits and School Kits should be placed in boxes, and sealed.    Paperwork will be available so your church may be properly credited by CWS.  If you have questions, or if you want to drop off kits earlier, please call the church at (631) 323-2665.
